Are you a VIP in your own rights? - Share Wellness (VIPs) Wellness Corner is a mental wellness support system for people who carry VIP status in society. They have a safe corner set aside right in their own mobile phones, through Share with a Counsellor Mobile Phone App. To protect VIPs from the very public they are serving, Share with a Counsellor Agency has customized a Mental Wellness services center, referred to as 'Share Wellness VIP Corner' specifically for them. VIPs are persons surrounded and driven by the public demands, which assert pressure on their resources. They are compelled by the public to keep a positive impression, sometimes to the point of pleasing the public. They have to create a balance between public expectation versus power and fame; which can be emotionally draining.

VIPs and Former VIPs suffer equal mental distress- The services are also available to former VIPs because they also encounter distress. According to a Research on ‘Politicians Leaving Office’, by Dr Ashley Weinberg, many politicians who leave office experience emotional turmoil even some get depressed. In the study, he reveals that most former MPs and Council Leaders experiences a sense of loss and grief when they left political offices, which is likened to ‘bereavement without a funeral’. The loss is not only attributed to the loss of the elected position but also loss of employment, identity, and status.

Naturally, they invest a lot of resources personally and professionally through sacrifices; hence cherishing the role. When they lose such positions VIPs also lose their identity, easily suffering public shame and humiliation. This happening can cause the former leader to experience a sense of failure and crushed confidence. Jane Roberts, author of 'Losing Political Office' in her article on the correlations between the politician and mental health stated that, “a number of former honorable members described clear features of depression, in one case affecting the spouse rather than the politician; such had been the wider impact of the defeat on the family, including severe financial stress”. She quotes some leaders' experiences, one council leader got depressed after an unexpected defeat saying “one really, really bad month, I locked myself away for a week. I didn’t go out. I just didn’t go out, I locked myself away.” Another one who had stood down, thinking it was the right time to go said, "But, it was quite a rational way of looking at things but the actual experience of doing it was a whole different matter … a bleak time …. quite depressed.”
